Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about shipping, customs clearance, tracking, and customs estimates. Contact IBR Al-Basra for cargo-specific advice.
Which documents are commonly required for shipping and customs?
The process normally starts with the commercial invoice, packing list, transport document, and certificate of origin. Additional approvals may be required for regulated goods.
How long does customs clearance take?
There is no fixed duration. Timing depends on document completeness, cargo type, inspections, permits, and official procedures.
How can I track a container or shipment?
Use a container number, B/L, booking reference, or AWB on the global tracking page. IBR customers can also search with their IBR Job No.
What is the difference between a B/L and an AWB?
A Bill of Lading is commonly used for ocean freight, while an Air Waybill is used for air freight. Both identify the cargo, parties, and transport movement.
Does the customs calculator show the final amount?
No. It provides an initial estimate. The final amount depends on classification, valuation, current decisions, and the competent authority.
What is an HS code?
It is an international product-classification code used to determine the description, tariff, and possible regulatory requirements.
What is needed for a freight quotation?
Origin, destination, cargo description, total weight, dimensions, package count, packing method, and required timing.
Can IBR arrange delivery after clearance?
Yes. Inland transport and final delivery can be coordinated within the agreed service scope and according to the cargo and destination.
