B/L versus AWB

Understand the transport references used for ocean and air shipments.

Bill of Lading (B/L)

A B/L is used for ocean freight and records the carrier, shipper, consignee, cargo, route, and shipment reference.

Air Waybill (AWB)

An AWB is used for air cargo and identifies the airline movement and shipment details.

Use the right tracking page

Use the reference together with the carrier name. IBR customers may also track with the dedicated IBR Job No.
